A messy old factory building was cleverly developed into a contemporary, comfortable work space on a limited budget.
Inospace required a business centre that could be used by multiple tenants within their Wynberg Works business park in Sandton. The space houses a common reception, meeting rooms, breakaway and causal meeting areas, a café, and offices for multi-tenants. The look and feel requirement was to tie in with the light/semi-industrial use of the park, the strong Inospace brand and an identity with the Johannesburg and Sandton areas.
We worked with the style of the building, giving a warehouse feeling by keeping the exposed roof and beams, exposing the raw concrete floor slab, and leaving the bagged walls intact. Much of the furniture to the common areas was re-purposed. This grouped and mixed with new furniture and new elements created an interesting, eclectic, warm, and homely environment. A fun link to the identity of neighbouring Johannesburg and Sandton CBD’s is visible in the hand painted skyline wall mural, as well as printed wallpaper graphics featuring vintage photography. The result: a stylish, modern multi-use workspace that befits the Inopsace aim “The perfect space to grow your business”.
