Hollard Call Centre Canteen

Hollard required the creation of a staff dining facility for their call centre staff which could seat 80-90 people at any given time. Because the call centre staff are a young group, a mixed-use facility was envisaged, catering for dining, meeting, and lounge use. The space would need to be durable and easy to maintain with a strong connection to the Hollard brand.

The space was to reflect a fun, playfulness that would become an ideal breakaway for the staff who work long hours. We were required to include facilities which allowed for play areas such as basketball, foosball, and snooker. The look and feel was to be based on an urban market theme, incorporating street art (graffiti) and furniture created from recycled and reconstituted products.

The concept that was developed expresses an inner city street market. This can be seen in the use of materials such as raw concrete, timber pallet furniture, raw wood detailing, and exposed brickwork. As a playful, fresh environment that is easily transformable to accommodate any type of function, we were able to design a user-friendly, comfortable, and inviting space. We also used bold graffiti style imagery to create a unique, playful ‘urban street scene’ while creating a strong link to the Hollard brand.
